Now hold up a minute, even if you don’t necessarily like simulators, the new footage we got from Microsoft Flight Simulator is breathtaking. Confirmed in a new trailer posted on January first, we also get to see how seasons look like.
The already in November posted footage by Nvidia utilizing raytracing as well as an incredibly detailed map lets us explore basically the whole world from the birds-eye view. And when we mean incredibly detailed, we mean it. The full download of the Flight Simulator 2020 map would take you around 2 petabytes. One petabyte is a thousand terabyte. The incredible mass of data is utilized not only by a mere flight simulation, but comes actually from the Microsoft owned Bing Maps.
If you’re interested in trying out Flight Simulator 2020 yourself, you can apply here for the Microsoft Insider program. But be warned, this isn’t a game really, the simulator part is quite serious.
