Today on February 27th, the next generation of Pokémon games has been revealed by Nintendo and the Pokémon company! Later in 2019, trainers can start their adventure in the Galar region in the new titles Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield! Both titles will be released simultanously worldwide in late 2019.
The starters!
Of course there’s no game without cute or interesting start Pokémon! This time you have the choice between the fire bunny Scorbunny, the water frog Sobble or the gras monkey Grookey! All three were introduced in a special prerendered cutscene which does certainly not represent the game’s final look, but definitely it’s a great way of introducing us to our new buddies!
Scorbunny is the fire starter with the touch of a … bunny. Look at it, standing there, proud and strong!t
Grookey is the fgras type monkey Pokémon with a shy but explorative nature as we could see it climb up to highest highs in the render trailer.
Sobble is the water frog like starter which will probably evolve into a giant powerful buddy at the end. For now it’s holding back its immense power. I guess.
The region
Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield will play in the Galar region, a continent wich more vertical based orientation if we can deduct that from the images we have gotten from the trailer.
The full overview of the Galar region!t The galar region holds many climates as we can see. From snowy mountain tops to grassy valleys and small seas. In this preview of the game we can see the amazing amount of details in the world. Apparently there will be actual tunnels in the game too Or this magnificent park! Apparently this will be our home town as trainers of the Galar region it does get very cold even in the high northern regions of Galar! And yes, that’s one of the many arenas in the game!
The trainers
Of course we also need to see how we can play as in the new Pokémon game. So here are the trainers in close ups and during fights, as we’ll of course get the regular Pokémon gras encounters back with Sword and Shield, as well as trainer fights as we are used to them.
Our starting home! Let’s go on an adventure! Of course random encounters in high gras are also making a come back. Of course older gen Pokémon will make return such as
