Just as we discussed on our podcast last night, Geralt the Witcher will make an appearance as a playable fighter in the sword swinging and blade sparking franchise Soul Calibur VI!
Just yesterday did the witchergame Twitter tease us with a small info talking about the training grounds of the Witcher, Kaer Morhen, as they will feel one’s more the stings of sparks as blades collide. The teaser got fans thinking how the Witcher franchise itself is on ice for now as the third game was marking the end of Geralt’s story and how only the Gwent card game is active in development for now, as the rest of the team behind the Witcher is focusing their development power towards the new project Cyberpunk 2077. We were asked to wait for more until today and now it finally was released.
The Witcher, Geralt of Rivia, is actually coming to the sword fighting franchise Soul Calibur VI as a playable fighter. Kaer Morhen will one of the many stages in which we will fight our battles on. A fitting selection as I might add. Geralt will be able to use both his silver and steel sword and also his magic abilities will be used to stop your opponents from winning. Soul Calibur VI will launch this year on PS4, Xbox One and PC via Steam.
See the official trailer for Geralt inside of Soul Calibur here. Geralt is not the only original character from another franchise that made an appearance in Soul Calibur. Previously also Master Yoda and Darth Vader from Star Wars made their appearances and later also Ezio Di Auditore da Firenze from the Assassin’s Creed franchise made an appearance as a sword fighter.
